Cedrus is built around personal memory, so privacy matters. This policy explains what Cedrus may collect, how it may be used, and what control you should have over it.

Information Cedrus may collect

When you use Cedrus, you may choose to provide information such as names, birthdays, gift ideas, preferences, life updates, reminders, notes, and other details about people in your life.

If Cedrus is used by text, Cedrus may collect your phone number, message content, timestamps, and basic delivery information needed to operate the service.

How Cedrus uses information

Cedrus uses the information you provide to organize relationship details, create reminders, surface useful follow-ups, and help you remember the people you care about.

Information about other people

Cedrus may include information you choose to save about other people. You are responsible for using Cedrus respectfully and only saving information you have a legitimate reason to remember.

What Cedrus does not do

• Cedrus does not sell your personal information.
• Cedrus is not designed to collect sensitive information unless you intentionally provide it.
• Cedrus is not for emergencies, crisis support, medical advice, legal advice, or mental health care.
• Cedrus should not be used to monitor, harass, manipulate, or secretly profile people.

AI processing

Cedrus may use AI systems to organize information, generate reminders, summarize saved details, and suggest follow-ups. AI-generated suggestions may be incomplete or wrong. Use your own judgment before acting on them.

Third-party services

Cedrus may use third-party providers for hosting, SMS messaging, AI processing, payments, and other infrastructure needed to run the service. These providers only receive the information needed to perform their services. Cedrus data is stored on servers located in the United States.

SMS Opt-In & Consent

How you opt in: Cedrus is an SMS-first service. You opt in by texting the Cedrus number directly. No account or app required. By sending your first text to Cedrus, you expressly consent to receive SMS messages from Cedrus Life, operated by Emil Chaia doing business as Cedrus Life.

What you'll receive: Replies to your saved notes and questions, weekly relationship briefs covering upcoming birthdays, check-ins, and life events, and occasional service updates. No bulk marketing. No promotional messages from third parties.

Opt-in confirmation: When you first text Cedrus, you will receive a confirmation message that includes a description of the service, STOP instructions, HELP instructions, and a link to this privacy policy.

Opting out: Reply STOP at any time to immediately opt out. Cedrus will send one final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed and will send no further messages. Reply START to re-subscribe at any time.

Help: Reply HELP at any time to receive service information and a link to cedrus.life/support.

Message frequency: Varies based on your usage. At minimum, one weekly brief if you have active contacts saved.

Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.

Data: Your phone number and message content are used solely to operate the Cedrus service. Your number is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Cedrus data is stored on servers in the United States.

Consent records: Cedrus maintains records of consent and opt-out status for all users.

Data retention and deletion

Cedrus allows you to edit or delete saved information. Because Cedrus is still early, some controls may evolve as the product develops. You may request deletion by contacting: privacy@cedrus.life. Deletion requests will be processed within 45 days of receipt.

Security

Cedrus uses reasonable safeguards to protect information. No internet or messaging service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Age requirement

Cedrus is intended for users who are at least 18 years old.

Changes to this policy

Cedrus may update this policy as the product develops. Updates will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
